Description: JoyRox is a new craze that is part pet rocks, part street art, and part geocaching. Now it is coming to Lansdowne! In this hands-on, fun, workshop everyone will make one decorated rock that requires no artistic ability whatsoever. If you can scribble, color inside the lines at least 60% of the time, and have a willingness to enjoy the process, you can make a gorgeous JoyRock. Your step-by-step rock decorating leader (rock star, if you will) is Bonnie Neubauer, founder of www.JoyRox.net. She is an author, not an artist, so you are in good and supportive company. Bonnie will supply everything you need to make JoyRox, but you might like to bring along a camera. After all the rocks have been decorated, everyone will hide their JoyRox near the studio with the intention of bringing joy to the unsuspecting folks who eventually find them. You will be amazed how exciting it feels to return empty-handed to the workshop, knowing you just left a gift for someone you don’t even know. (If you are unable to part with your JoyRock because you fall in love with your creation, you can certainly keep it or gift it to someone special in your life.) We will give names to name all the JoyRox, take their portraits, and post them in the Workshop Gallery on JoyRox.net, complete with clues to their hiding places. We hope you will join the workshop, get in on the JoyRox movement to spread joy one art rock at a time, and TOTALLY ROCK LANSDOWNE! |
