Make Stuff with Marty & Friends

Description: FREE for Premier Members! Join us each Wednesday for Make Stuff with Marty & Friends – a modern interpretation of the quilting circles of yore led by Marty von Rosenstiel. Each week, experience two hours of freefrom community creativity working with various salvaged materials, recyclable items, paper, fabric, and other assorted odds and ends. Feel free to work on your own projects or let Marty lead the way with her limitless wealth of ideas – all materials provided. All ages are welcome, however, those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent.




Figure Drawing

Description: Enjoy the beauty of the human form in the classic art of figure drawing. Artists will work from a live model in a variety of croquis, and poses ranging from 1-20 minutes. During this moderated class, artists can feel free to explore different techniques and mediums, such as charcoal, graphite, conte and ink. Model fee included. You bring your drawing supplies and easels.




Figure Drawing Ten Week Series

Oil Painting for Everyone

Description: Learn simple and effective techniques for working with this sometimes intimidating medium. Beginners will learn the basics needed to be successful and seasoned painters even learn a few new tricks. Topics to be covered will include drawing with the brush/various painting techniques, different types of oil mediums, brushes and painting surfaces, basic color theory and mixing, working with limited and extended color palettes, painting from life, as well as using photographic reference. Registration fee covers all materials needed for this class.




Pointillism with Marshmallows

Description: Learn to paint with marshmallows during this creative and unique painting class. Discover and learne more about the basic techniques of Pointillism while creating large African masks made with mixed media materials. All supplies for this class are included; however, it is strongly advised that students wear clothes that can get messy.




Intro to Duct Tape Art

Description: Explore what you can do with duct tape! We will start with the basics as you learn skills to make simple items such as a wallet and a rose pen. Duct tape is extremely durable and comes in a variety of styles so there’s plenty of room for your creativity. Materials and supplies included with registration.

Description: Discover printmaking while enjoying a relaxing evening of snacks and refreshments during this workshop with instructor Liz Steele Coats. the Create an original linoleum block carved with linocutters. Students will look through a variety of original prints and learn basics as well as discover new (and “renewed”) techniques. They will then sketch and carve their own block and then hand-burnish them onto paper and fabric. Feel free to bring any special papers and/or fabric from home if you’re feeling ambitious. Provide paper, fabric, linocutters, ink, breyers, and linoleum blocks. No experience is necessary! Simply come with a steady hand and a willingness to learn amidst a group of encouraging people! All materials and snacks are included.
