About Cari Ann Brezina
Cari Ann Brezina
Cari is a recent graduate of Moore College of Art and Design, where she studied Fashion Design and Art History. At Moore, she discovered a love of children’s wear and children’s book illustration and combined both in her senior collection, finding inspiration in Maurice Sendak’s Outside Over There. She was awarded best in show and best construction for her whimsical, period-inspired pieces.

Beyond the classroom, she has worked in the Costume Department at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia, as well as on the film “Limitless” (Spring 2010). Last fall, she was selected to represent Moore in the Arts of Fashion Competition in San Francisco, CA. Her pieces walked in a show alongside the work of fifty fashion design students selected from across the world.

Her latest artistic endeavor combines fashion, illustration, and creative writing. She is working on young adult novel featuring five girls and their magical adventures in their town. The clothing featured in the novel will be imaginative, wearable dresses, and hand-made using organic knits. She also makes time to teach piano and art out of her studio in Lansdowne.

Look for her work in the Rosenbach Museum and Library’s upcoming Researcher’s exhibition later this year, as well as in the third edition of Emerging Fashion Designers (Release date 2012).
